Position Summary
ISRO invites applications from
qualified candidates for the post of Assistant (Rajbhasha) in its
Centres/Units and at IIST. The role focuses on implementing the Government of
India’s Official Language Policy (Hindi), assisting in translation, typing,
computer-based official language tasks, and coordination among departments.
📚
Key Responsibilities
✔ Translate official documents
between English and Hindi
✔ Type official correspondence and reports in Hindi
using Unicode and Inscript keyboard
✔ Maintain records and documents related to Rajbhasha
work
✔ Support implementation of Annual Hindi Programmes
and directives
✔ Coordinate with departments to promote Hindi usage
✔ Perform data entry and formatting tasks using
computers
✔ Assist in statutory compliance under the Official
Language Act
✔ Undertake other duties assigned by supervisors

Essential Qualifications
✔ Graduate with 60% marks
or CGPA of 6.32/10 from a recognized university
✔ Hindi typing speed: 25 words per minute on a
computer
✔ Proficiency in computer usage and related office
tools

✔ Knowledge of English
typewriting

Pay Level: Level-04, 7th
CPC Pay Matrix
Salary Range: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100

Selection Process
Stage 1 – Written Test (120
minutes)
Parts include:
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs
- General English
- General Hindi & Grammar
- Computer Literacy
Qualifying marks:
- UR: 50% in each part
- Reserved categories: 40% in each part
Stage 2 – Skill Test
(Qualifying)
- Computer Literacy Test: 60% (UR), 50%
(Reserved)
- Hindi Typing Test: 250 words at 25 w.p.m.;
max mistakes: 5% (UR), 8% (Reserved)
Final Selection
Based on marks in the Written
Test only, provided candidates qualify in both parts of the Skill Test.
